Baked Beans and Ground Beef

Baked Beans and Ground Beef Casserole
Ingredients
– 1 lb ground beef
– 1 medium yellow onion, chopped
– 1 medium green bell pepper, chopped
– 1 cup ketchup
– 1 tsp mustard
– 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
– 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
– 2 (15 oz) cans pork and beans (do not drain)
– Salt and black pepper, to taste
– 1 tablespoon butter
Instructions
Begin by preheating the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease a 9 x 13-inch baking dish with butter.
In a large skillet, brown the ground beef until it is no longer pink. Add the chopped onion and bell pepper, cooking until they are tender. Drain any excess grease.
Note: For an added kick, consider substituting half of the bell pepper with jalapeƱo or poblano.
Stir in the ketchup, followed by the mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and brown sugar, mixing well. Adjust the seasoning with salt and black pepper to your preference.
Incorporate the pork and beans along with their juice, stirring gently to combine.
Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly. Cover the dish tightly with foil.
Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes. Enjoy your meal!
