Savory Steak Bites and Shrimp: A Surf & Turf Treat 🥩🍤
Ingredients:
1 lb steak (sirloin, ribeye, or your preference), diced into bite-sized pieces 🥩
1 lb large shrimp (peeled and deveined) 🍤
2 tbsp olive oil 🫒
2 tbsp butter 🧈
3 cloves garlic (minced) 🧄
1 tbsp fresh thyme (or 1 tsp dried) 🌿
1 tbsp fresh rosemary (or 1 tsp dried) 🌿
1/2 tsp smoked paprika 🌶️
Salt & pepper to taste 🧂
1/2 cup beef broth 🥣
1/2 cup heavy cream 🥛
1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese 🧀
Fresh parsley for garnish 🌿
Preparation Steps:
Prepare the Steak Bites:
In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat. Season the steak pieces with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and half of the fresh herbs. Sear the steak in batches for 3-4 minutes on each side until browned and cooked to your liking. Remove the steak bites and set aside.
Cook the Shrimp:
In the same skillet, add the remaining olive oil and butter. Sauté the garlic for 1 minute until aromatic. Add the shrimp, seasoning with salt, pepper, and the remaining herbs. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and are fully cooked. Remove the shrimp and set aside with the steak bites.
Prepare the Sauce:
Pour the beef broth into the skillet, bringing it to a simmer while scraping the browned bits from the bottom. Allow it to reduce for 3-4 minutes. Stir in the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese, simmering for an additional 2 minutes until the sauce thickens.
Combine and Serve:
Return the steak bites and shrimp to the skillet, tossing them in the creamy sauce to coat. Let everything simmer together for 2-3 minutes to meld the flavors.
Garnish and Enjoy:
Before serving, garnish with fresh parsley.
Additional Tips:
For a refreshing touch, add a squeeze of lemon juice just before serving. 🍋
Pair with mashed potatoes, rice, or a simple green salad for a complete meal. 🥗
For an extra indulgent finish, sprinkle additional Parmesan cheese on top before serving. 🧀
Enjoy!
