Crispy Potato

Crispy Potato Squares:

Ingredients:

– 4 medium russet potatoes, peeled and diced into 1-inch cubes
– 3 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter
– 1 teaspoon garlic powder
– 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
– 1 teaspoon dried thyme or rosemary
– Salt and black pepper to taste
– 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
– Chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions:

1. Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 425°F (220°C). Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper or lightly greasing it.

2. Prepare Potatoes: Rinse the diced potatoes under cold water to eliminate excess starch. Dry them thoroughly with a clean kitchen towel.

3. Season the Potatoes: In a large mixing bowl, combine the potato cubes with olive oil or melted butter. Add garlic powder, smoked paprika, thyme, salt, and black pepper. Toss well to ensure even coating.

4. Arrange on Baking Sheet: Lay the seasoned potato cubes in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, making sure they are not overcrowded to achieve maximum crispiness.

5. Bake: Place in the preheated oven and bake for 20 minutes. Flip the potatoes and continue baking for an additional 15–20 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy.

6. Add Parmesan (Optional): In the final 5 minutes of baking, if desired, sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the potatoes and allow it to melt and crisp slightly.

7. Garnish and Serve: Once done, take them out of the oven, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve right away.

These crispy potato squares are an excellent choice for a side dish or a snack!
