Baked chicken wings
Herb-Seasoned Baked Chicken Wings:
Ingredients:
– 2 pounds chicken wings (separated into flats and drumettes)
– 2 tablespoons olive oil
– 1 tablespoon garlic powder
– 1 tablespoon onion powder
– 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
– 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for added heat)
– 2 teaspoons dried parsley
– 1 teaspoon dried thyme
– 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
– Salt and black pepper to taste
– 1/4 cup chicken broth
– 1/4 cup melted butter
– Juice of 1 lemon (or 2 tablespoons)
– 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Wings:
Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). Use paper towels to pat the chicken wings dry and place them in a large mixing bowl.
2. Season the Wings:
Drizzle the olive oil over the wings and toss them to ensure they are well coated. In a separate small bowl, mix together the garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, dried parsley, thyme, rosemary, salt, and black pepper. Evenly sprinkle this spice mixture over the wings.
3. Bake:
Arrange the seasoned wings in a single layer within a baking dish or roasting pan. Pour the chicken broth into the bottom of the pan to maintain moisture during baking. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
4. Add Butter and Lemon:
After 30 minutes, remove the foil, brush the wings with melted butter, and drizzle lemon juice over them. Return the dish to the oven uncovered and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the wings are golden brown and fully cooked (internal temperature should reach 165°F/74°C).
5. Broil (Optional):
For an extra crispy skin, activate the broiler for the last 3-5 minutes, keeping a close watch to avoid burning.
6. Garnish and Serve:
Before serving, sprinkle fresh parsley over the wings. These can be enjoyed as either a main dish or an appetizer
