Shrimp tacos
Air Fryer Shrimp Tacos
INGREDIENTS
– 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
– 1 tablespoon olive oil
– 2 teaspoons brown sugar
– 1 teaspoon chili powder
– 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
– ½ teaspoon onion powder
– ½ teaspoon garlic powder
– ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
– 1 teaspoon salt
To serve:
– 8 taco shells or mini tortillas
– Shredded cabbage and carrots or a pre-packaged coleslaw mix
– Toppings (see note)
– Lime wedges
INSTRUCTIONS
1. In a small bowl, combine the chili powder, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and brown sugar.
2. In a large bowl, toss the shrimp with olive oil and the prepared seasoning mixture until evenly coated.
3. Preheat the air fryer to 380°F for several minutes. Arrange the shrimp in a single layer in a lined air fryer basket.
4. Cook the shrimp in batches for approximately 5 minutes, or until they are opaque and fully cooked.
5. To assemble the tacos, place shredded cabbage and carrots or coleslaw mix into each tortilla, add the air-fried shrimp, and top with your choice of toppings. Serve with lime wedges on the side.
NOTES
– You may substitute 1 to 1.5 tablespoons of taco seasoning for the spices listed in the recipe.
– Suggested toppings include guacamole, pico de gallo, salsa, spicy mayo, hot sauce, red onions, and chopped cilantro.
– Store any leftover shrimp in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days.
– To reheat, place the shrimp in the air fryer at 350°F for a few minutes until warmed through.
