Egg Salad Sandwich Recipe
Ingredients:
– 6 large eggs
– 1/4 cup mayonnaise
– 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
– Salt and black pepper, to taste
– 1 tablespoon chives or green onions, chopped (optional)
– 2 slices of your preferred bread (toasted, if desired)
– Lettuce leaves (optional)
Instructions:
1. Boil the eggs: Place the eggs in a saucepan, cover them with water, and bring to a boil. Once boiling, turn off the heat, cover the saucepan, and allow the eggs to sit for 10 minutes.
2. Cool and peel the eggs: Move the eggs to an ice bath to cool, then peel and chop them into small pieces.
3. Prepare the salad: In a bowl, combine the chopped eggs, mayonnaise, mustard, salt, pepper, and chives (if using) until thoroughly mixed.
4. Assemble the sandwich: Lay lettuce on one slice of bread, add the egg salad on top, and place the second slice of bread over it.
