Ingredients:
– 1/4 cup cornstarch
– 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
– 1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar
– 1 cup butter, softened
Instructions:
1. Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened butter and confectioners’ sugar, beating them together until the mixture is smooth and fluffy.
3. Gradually sift in the cornstarch and all-purpose flour, mixing until the ingredients are thoroughly combined and a cohesive dough is formed.
4. If desired, you may pipe the dough into small shapes onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Alternatively, you can roll the dough into small balls and gently flatten them.
5. Optionally, place a small piece of cherry or any preferred topping in the center of each cookie.
6. Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 8-10 minutes, or until the edges begin to turn a light golden color. Take care not to overbake.
7. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
