Philly Cheesesteak Cheesy Bread

Ingredients

– 8 ounces ribeye steak, thinly sliced
– 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt, divided
– 1/4 teaspoon coarse ground black pepper, divided
– 1 tablespoon canola oil
– 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
– 2 tablespoons butter
– 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
– 1 yellow onion, thinly sliced
– 4 ounces mushrooms, thinly sliced (optional)
– 1 loaf of French bread, halved lengthwise
– 1/2 cup mayonnaise
– 8 ounces Provolone cheese, sliced

Instructions

1. Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. Prepare the Steak:

Season the ribeye steak slices with half of the kosher salt and black pepper.

In a large skillet, heat the canola oil over medium-high heat.

Add the seasoned steak to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes until browned.

Incorporate the Worcestershire sauce, ensuring the steak is well-coated, then remove it from the skillet and set aside.

3. Cook the Vegetables:

Using the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.

Add the sliced bell pepper, onion, and mushrooms (if desired), along with the remaining salt and pepper.

Sauté for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are tender and slightly caramelized.

4. Assemble the Bread:

Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise on each half of the French bread.

Distribute the cooked steak evenly over the mayonnaise.

Top with the sautéed vegetables, followed by an even layer of Provolone cheese slices.

5. Bake:

Arrange the assembled bread halves on a baking sheet.

Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

6. Serve:

Cut the bread into portions and serve while hot.

Savor your Philly Cheesesteak Cheesy Bread, an excellent choice for a delightful dinner or a game day snack!
