Cajun Sausage and Shrimp Pasta
Spice up your dinner tonight with this Cajun Sausage and Shrimp Pasta! A true taste of the South in your mouth.
Ingredients:
– 8 ounces pasta (linguine or fettuccine)
– 1 tablespoon olive oil
– 1/2 pound Andouille sausage, sliced
– 1/2 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
– 1 bell pepper, diced
– 1 onion, diced
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 cup chicken broth
– 1 cup heavy cream
– 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning
– Salt and pepper to taste
– 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
– 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
Directions:
1. Cook pasta according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add Andouille sausage and cook until browned. Remove sausage and set aside.
3. In the same skillet, add shrimp and cook until pink. Remove shrimp and set aside.
4. In the same skillet, add bell pepper, onion, and garlic; sauté until vegetables are soft.
5. Add chicken broth, heavy cream, and Cajun seasoning to the skillet; bring to a simmer.
6. Return the sausage and shrimp to the skillet. Simmer for 3-4 minutes.
7. Stir in the cooked pasta, Parmesan cheese, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
8. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
