Caramel

quick and delicious 6-Minute Caramel:

Ingredients:

1 cup granulated sugar

¼ cup water

½ cup heavy cream

1 tsp pure vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions:

1. Prepare Your Ingredients: Before starting, make sure you have your ingredients measured and ready. Caramel happens quickly, so it’s important to work fast once it begins cooking.

2. Cook the Sugar and Water:

In a medium, heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine the granulated sugar and water.

Cook over medium heat, stirring gently until the sugar is completely dissolved, about 2-3 minutes.

Once dissolved, stop stirring and let the mixture come to a boil.

Keep a close eye on it, and allow the sugar to turn a deep amber color (around 5-6 minutes). You’ll know it’s done when it turns a rich golden brown.

3. Add the Cream:

Once the sugar has reached the desired color, carefully add the heavy cream.

The mixture will bubble up vigorously, so pour slowly and stir constantly.

Continue stirring until everything is well mixed, and you have a smooth consistency.

4. Add Vanilla (Optional):

If using, stir in the vanilla extract for extra flavor.

5. Cool Down:

Remove from heat and allow it to cool slightly. The caramel will thicken as it cools.

Enjoy your homemade caramel! It’s perfect for drizzling over desserts, ice cream, or even adding to your coffee.
