hot peach cobbler

Ingredients

For the Cobbler:

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter

1 cup cake flour or all-purpose flour

1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup sugar (divided)

1 cup milk

2 cups fresh or canned peaches (sliced, with juices)

Instructions

1. Preheat Oven:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

2. Melt Butter:

In a 9×13 inch baking dish, melt the butter in the oven while it preheats.

3. Mix Dry Ingredients:

In a bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and 1/2 cup of sugar.

4. Add Milk:

Stir in the milk until just combined. The batter will be thick.

5. Combine:

Pour the batter over the melted butter in the baking dish (do not stir).

6. Add Peaches:

Evenly distribute the sliced peaches (with juices) over the batter. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of sugar on top.

7. Bake:

Bake for about 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.

8. Serve:

Serve hot, ideally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
