Dorito Taco Salad
Ingredients:
– 1 lb ground beef
– 1 packet taco seasoning
– 1 head of iceberg or romaine lettuce, chopped
– 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
– 1 can (15 oz) black beans or kidney beans, drained and rinsed (optional)
– 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
– 1/2 cup sliced black olives (optional)
– 1/2 cup diced red onion
– 1 cup Catalina or ranch dressing
– 2 cups Nacho Cheese Doritos, crushed
– 1/2 cup sour cream (optional)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Beef – In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef. Drain any excess fat, then stir in the taco seasoning and cook as directed on the package. Allow to cool slightly.
2. Combine the Salad – In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped lettuce, halved tomatoes, beans, shredded cheese, olives, and diced red onion.
3. Incorporate the Dressing – Drizzle the Catalina or ranch dressing over the salad and toss to ensure everything is well coated.
4. Add the Crunch – Just before serving, fold in the crushed Doritos for added texture.
5. Serve – If desired, top with sour cream and enjoy!
