Hamburger casserole
Hamburger and Potato Casserole:
Ingredients:
– 1 pound ground beef
– 1 medium onion, diced
– 3–4 medium potatoes, sliced thinly
– Salt and pepper, to taste
– 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions:
1. Preheat the Oven: Begin by setting your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Cook the Ground Beef: In a skillet, brown the ground beef along with the diced onion over medium heat until the beef is fully cooked and the onions are translucent. Drain any excess fat and season with salt and pepper to your liking.
3. Prepare the Potatoes: Clean, peel (if desired), and slice the potatoes thinly.
4. Layer the Casserole:
In a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, arrange a layer of sliced potatoes at the bottom.
Top with half of the cooked beef and onion mixture.
Repeat the layering process, finishing with a layer of potatoes on top.
5. Cover and Bake: Cover the dish with aluminum foil and place it in the oven to bake for 45 minutes.
6. Add Cheese: After 45 minutes, remove the foil, sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the casserole, and return it to the oven uncovered for an additional 15 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
7. Serve: Allow the casserole to cool for a few minutes before serving
