Crockpot goulash
Crockpot Goulash Recipe for a Hearty and Comforting Meal:
Ingredients:
– 1 lb ground beef or ground turkey
– 1 medium onion, chopped
– 1 medium green bell pepper, chopped (optional)
– 3 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
– 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
– 1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
– 3 cups beef broth (or chicken broth)
– 2 tsp Italian seasoning
– 1 tsp paprika
– 1 tsp salt (or to taste)
– 1/2 tsp black pepper
– 2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
– 1 cup shredded cheese (optional, for serving)
Instructions:
1. Brown the Meat: In a skillet, cook the ground beef along with the onion, bell pepper, and garlic over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
2. Mix in the Crockpot: Transfer the cooked meat mixture to the crockpot. Add the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, beef broth, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine.
3. Cook: Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
4. Incorporate Pasta: During the last 30-40 minutes of cooking, add the uncooked elbow macaroni. Stir to ensure the pasta is submerged in the liquid and cook until tender.
5. Serve: If desired, sprinkle with shredded cheese before serving hot.
