Shrimp alfredo
Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo
Ingredients:
– 1 pound fettuccine pasta
– 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
– 2 tablespoons olive oil
– 1 tablespoon butter
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 cup heavy cream
– 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
– Salt and pepper to taste
– Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the pasta:
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine and cook until al dente, following the package directions. Drain and set aside.
2. Cook the shrimp:
While the pasta is cooking, heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the shrimp and sauté until they turn pink and opaque, approximately 2-3 minutes per side. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
3. Create the Alfredo sauce:
In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Allow it to cook for about 5 minutes, or until the cream starts to thicken.
4. Incorporate the cheese:
Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until it melts and the sauce is smooth. Season with salt and pepper to your liking. Return the shrimp to the skillet and mix to coat them in the Alfredo sauce.
5. Combine pasta and sauce:
Add the drained fettuccine to the skillet and toss it with the Alfredo sauce and shrimp until well combined. Heat through to ensure the pasta is evenly coated with the creamy sauce.
6. Serve:
Serve immediately, garnished with chopped parsley.
