👩🍳 Instructions
1. Prepare the Mashed Potatoes
– In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the cubed potatoes and cook until they are tender when pierced with a fork, approximately 15-20 minutes.
– Once cooked, drain the water and mash the potatoes with milk, butter, salt, and pepper until they reach a smooth and creamy consistency. Set aside.
2. Cook the Ground Beef
– In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
– Add the diced onion (and garlic, if using) to the skillet, cooking until the onion is soft and aromatic.
3. Prepare the Gravy
– Sprinkle the flour over the beef and onions, stirring to ensure an even coating.
– Gradually pour in the beef broth while stirring to avoid lumps, then add the milk or cream.
– Incorporate Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika (if using), salt, and pepper.
– Allow the mixture to simmer for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the gravy thickens to your liking.
4. Assemble and Serve
– Place the mashed potatoes onto plates or bowls.
– Generously spoon the ground beef and gravy mixture over the potatoes.
– Optionally, garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
Enjoy your delicious and comforting meal!
