Ricotta meatballs

Ricotta Meatballs

**Ingredients**
– 1 pound ground beef
– 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
– 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
– 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
– 1 large egg
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 teaspoon dried oregano
– 1 teaspoon dried basil
– Salt and pepper, to taste
– 1 cup marinara sauce (for serving)
– Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

**Instructions**
1. **Preheat the Oven:** Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper or lightly greasing it.
2. **Combine Ingredients for Meatballs:** In a large mixing bowl, blend together the ground beef, ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and pepper. Stir until all components are well mixed, taking care not to overwork the mixture.
3. **Shape the Meatballs:** With your hands, shape the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and arrange them on the prepared baking sheet.
4. **Bake the Meatballs:** Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the meatballs are golden brown and fully cooked (internal temperature should reach 160°F).
5. **Serve with Marinara Sauce:** In a small saucepan, warm the marinara sauce. Serve the meatballs alongside the sauce or ladle it over the meatballs. Optionally, garnish with fresh parsley.
6. **Savor the Dish:** These flavorful, cheesy meatballs are delightful when paired with pasta, served in a sub, or enjoyed on their own for a satisfying meal!
