Beef brikset
Slow Cooker Beef Brisket:
Ingredients:
– 4-5 pounds beef brisket, trimmed
– 2 teaspoons kosher salt
– 1 teaspoon black pepper
– 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
– 1 teaspoon garlic powder
– 1 teaspoon onion powder
– 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for added heat)
– 1 cup beef broth
– 1/2 cup barbecue sauce (plus additional for serving)
– 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
– 1 large onion, sliced
– 4 garlic cloves, minced
Instructions:
1. Season the Brisket: In a small bowl, combine the kosher salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper (if desired). Rub this seasoning mixture thoroughly over the brisket.
2. Prepare the Slow Cooker: Layer the sliced onions and minced garlic at the bottom of the slow cooker.
3. Add Liquids: Pour the beef broth, barbecue sauce, and Worcestershire sauce over the onions and garlic.
4. Cook the Brisket: Position the brisket on top of the onion mixture. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 8-10 hours, or until the brisket is tender enough to be easily shredded with a fork.
5. Rest and Serve: Once cooked, remove the brisket from the slow cooker and allow it to rest for 15 minutes. Slice against the grain and serve with additional barbecue sauce, if preferred.
