Cheese fries
Cheese Fries using boiled potatoes:
Ingredients:
– 4 medium potatoes, peeled and boiled
– 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or any preferred cheese)
– 1 tablespoon olive oil or melted butter
– 1 teaspoon garlic powder
– 1 teaspoon paprika
– ½ teaspoon salt (to taste)
– ½ teaspoon black pepper
– Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions:
1. Preheat the Oven or Air Fryer: Set your oven to 425°F (220°C) or adjust your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
2. Boil the Potatoes: Cook the peeled potatoes in salted water until they are tender but still intact (approximately 10-15 minutes). Allow them to cool slightly before cutting into thick wedges or fry shapes.
3. Season the Potatoes: In a large bowl, gently combine the potato wedges with olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
4. Bake or Air Fry:
– Oven: Arrange the seasoned potatoes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 20-25 minutes, turning them halfway through, until they are crispy and golden.
– Air Fryer: Place the potatoes in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until they achieve a crispy texture.
5. Add Cheese: After the fries are crispy, sprinkle the shredded cheese on top and return them to the oven or air fryer for an additional 2-3 minutes, just until the cheese has melted.
6. Serve: If desired, garnish with fresh parsley. Serve hot alongside your favorite dips such as ranch, ketchup, or sour cream.
