Crispy Air-Fried Chicken Strips
Ingredients:
– 2 chicken fillets (sliced into strips)
– 3 eggs
– 2 cloves of garlic (finely minced)
– 1 cup all-purpose flour
– 1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko for enhanced crispiness)
– 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
– 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
– 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
– 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
– 1 teaspoon salt
– Non-stick cooking spray or oil spray
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Chicken Strips:
Begin by slicing the chicken fillets into strips and patting them dry. Incorporate the minced garlic by rubbing it onto the chicken strips.
2. Establish the Coating Stations:
Station 1: In a shallow dish, combine the flour, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt.
Station 2: In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs until well blended.
Station 3: Place the breadcrumbs in another shallow dish.
3. Coat the Chicken:
First, dredge each chicken strip in the flour mixture, ensuring to shake off any excess. Next, dip the strip into the beaten eggs, allowing any excess to drip off. Finally, coat the strip thoroughly with breadcrumbs, pressing gently to ensure adherence.
4. Preheat the Air Fryer:
Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for approximately 3-5 minutes.
5. Cook the Chicken Strips:
Lightly spray the air fryer basket with non-stick cooking spray. Arrange the chicken strips in a single layer within the basket, avoiding overcrowding. Apply a light coat of oil spray on top of the chicken strips. Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 10-12 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cooking time, until they are golden and crispy.
6. Check for Doneness:
Verify that the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165°F (74°C).
7. Serve:
Serve the chicken strips with your preferred dipping sauces, such as ranch, honey mustard, or spicy mayo.
Tip: For enhanced crispiness, opt for panko breadcrumbs and ensure that the strips are evenly coated with oil spray.
