Prime rib
Prime Rib Recipe for Christmas – A Must-Have
• Ingredients:
1 bone-in prime rib roast (6-8 pounds)
2 tablespoons olive oil
Salt and pepper, to taste
Garlic cloves, optional
• Instructions:
Begin by preheating your oven to 500°F (260°C).
Position the prime rib roast on a rack within a roasting pan. Apply olive oil to the surface of the roast and season generously with salt and pepper. If you wish, you may insert garlic cloves into the roast using a paring knife.
Place the roasting pan in the preheated oven and roast the prime rib for 15 minutes.
Subsequently, lower the oven temperature to 325°F (160°C) and continue roasting the prime rib until it attains your preferred level of doneness. Utilize a meat thermometer to monitor the internal temperature of the roast. For medium-rare, aim for an internal temperature of 135°F (57°C). For medium, the target is 140°F (60°C). For well-done, it should reach 150°F (66°C).
Once cooked, remove the roast from the oven and allow it to rest for 15-20 minutes prior to slicing and serving.
