Crispy Fried Chicken Recipe
Ingredients:
– Chicken pieces (approximately 8-10 pieces)
– 1 cup milk
– 2 large eggs, beaten
– 2 cups all-purpose flour
– 2 teaspoons black pepper
– 2 teaspoons garlic powder
– Salt to taste (approximately 1-2 teaspoons, or adjust according to preference)
– Cooking oil for frying
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Chicken: Rinse the chicken pieces and pat them dry. If desired, lightly season with salt.
2. Create Wet and Dry Mixtures: In one bowl, combine the milk with the beaten eggs. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, black pepper, garlic powder, and any additional seasonings you prefer.
3. Coat the Chicken: Dip each piece of chicken into the egg mixture, allowing any excess to drip off. Then, coat it in the seasoned flour mixture, pressing gently to ensure adherence.
4. Optional Double Dipping for Extra Crunch: For an even crunchier coating, dip each flour-coated piece back into the egg mixture, followed by another coating of the flour mixture.
5. Fry the Chicken: Heat approximately 1-2 inches of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (or until a pinch of flour sizzles upon contact with the oil). Fry the chicken in batches for about 7-10 minutes per side, or until it is golden brown and thoroughly cooked, with an internal temperature of 165°F.
6. Drain and Serve: Remove the chicken pieces from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb any excess oil.
Serve hot alongside your preferred dipping sauce or side dishes. Enjoy!
