Fried Cabbage with Bacon, Onion, and Garlic Recipe

Ingredients:

– 6 slices of bacon, chopped
– 1 large head of cabbage, cored and sliced
– 2 cloves of garlic, finely minced
– 1 large onion, chopped
– 1 tablespoon salt (to taste)
– 1 teaspoon ground black pepper (to taste)

Instructions:

1. Cook the Bacon: In a large skillet, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until it reaches a crispy texture, approximately 5-7 minutes. Remove the bacon from the skillet and set it aside, retaining the bacon grease.

2. Sauté the Onion and Garlic: In the same skillet containing the bacon grease, add the chopped onion. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes until it becomes translucent, then incorporate the minced garlic. Continue cooking for an additional minute until the garlic is aromatic.

3. Add the Cabbage: Introduce the sliced cabbage to the skillet. Season with salt and black pepper, and toss the mixture. Cover the skillet and cook for about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender.

4. Combine and Serve: Return the cooked bacon to the skillet, mix everything thoroughly, and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to allow the flavors to blend.

5. Serve: Transfer the dish to a serving platter and enjoy while it is still warm.

This dish is not only delicious as a side but can also be enjoyed on its own.
