2-3 large sweet onions (such as Vidalia), cut into 1/4-inch thick rings

1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese

1 cup shredded Gruyère or Swiss cheese

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and black pepper, to taste

Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

1. Preheat the Oven: Set your oven temperature to 350°F (175°C).

2. Prepare the Onions: Place the onion rings in a single layer within a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.

3. Season and Add Butter: Evenly distribute garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper over the onions. Drizzle the melted butter on top.

4. Incorporate Cheese: Evenly sprinkle the mozzarella, Parmesan, and Gruyère (or Swiss) cheeses over the onions.

5. Bake: Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Afterward, remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the onions are tender and the cheese is golden and bubbly.

6. Serve: If desired, garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.
