Microwave Baked Potato Ready in Minutes

1. Ingredients:

1 medium to large russet potato

Olive oil (optional, for a crispy texture)

Salt and pepper, to taste

Optional toppings: butter, sour cream, cheese, chives, bacon bits, etc.

2. Instructions:

1. Clean and Prepare: Rinse the potato thoroughly and dry it with a towel. Use a fork to poke several holes in the potato to allow steam to escape.

2. Apply Oil and Season: For a crispier skin, lightly brush the potato with olive oil and season it with salt.

3. Microwave: Place the potato on a microwave-safe plate. Microwave on high for 4-5 minutes, adjusting the time according to the size of the potato. Check for doneness by inserting a fork; if it is still firm, continue microwaving in 1-minute intervals until it becomes tender.

4. Crisping (Optional): For an even crispier skin, move the potato to a preheated oven or toaster oven at 400°F (200°C) for an additional 5-10 minutes after microwaving.

5. Serve and Garnish: Slice the potato open, fluff the insides with a fork, and add your choice of toppings. Enjoy!
