Ruth’s Pie Crust
Perfect for pies that need a flaky, no-fail crust!

Ingredients:

4 cups all-purpose flour

1 3/4 cups shortening

3 tablespoons white sugar

2 teaspoons salt

Instructions:

1. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Mix well.

2. Cut in the shortening with a pastry cutter or fork until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

3. Gradually add cold water, one tablespoon at a time, and mix just until the dough holds together. Be careful not to overmix.

4. Divide the dough into portions (depending on the size of your pie).

5. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to fit your pie pan.

6. Place in your pan, trim any excess, and add your desired filling.

This pie crust is indeed a treasure, and I hope it brings as much joy to others as it has to you and your family. Thank you for passing it along!
