Cheeseburger casserole
Cheeseburger Casserole Recipe
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
1 medium onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes, undrained
1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
2 cups beef broth
2 cups uncooked pasta (elbow or small shells work well)
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or more if you like it extra cheesy!)
1/4 cup ketchup
1 tbsp mustard (optional, for a classic cheeseburger taste)
Chopped pickles, lettuce, or tomatoes for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Cook Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with diced onion and garlic. Season with salt and pepper, then drain any excess fat.
3. Add Tomatoes and Sauce: Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, ketchup, and mustard. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
4. Add Pasta and Broth: Pour in the beef broth and add the pasta. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let it simmer until the pasta is just tender (about 8-10 minutes).
5. Assemble Casserole: Pour the mixture into a casserole dish. Top with shredded cheese.
6. Bake: Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
7. Garnish (Optional): Top with chopped pickles, lettuce, or tomatoes for a true cheeseburger flavor.
8. Serve: Enjoy warm!
This is a fantastic, family-friendly meal that’s easy to customize. You can even add some bacon or jalapeños if you’re craving extra flavors!
