German Chocolate Cake recipe that you can try:

Ingredients:

For the Cake:

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

4 oz German sweet chocolate, melted and cooled

1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature

2 cups granulated sugar

4 large eggs, room temperature

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 cup buttermilk

For the Coconut-Pecan Frosting:

1 cup evaporated milk

1 cup granulated sugar

3 large egg yolks, lightly beaten

1/2 cup unsalted butter

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 1/3 cups sweetened shredded coconut

1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions:

For the Cake:

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour three 9-inch round cake pans.

2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder.

3. In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

4. Mix in the vanilla extract and melted German chocolate.

5. Gradually add the dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined.

6. Pour the batter into the prepared pans, evenly distributing the mixture. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

7. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then turn them out onto wire racks to cool completely.

For the Coconut-Pecan Frosting:

1. In a medium saucepan, combine the evaporated milk, sugar, egg yolks, butter, and vanilla. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened (about 12-15 minutes).

2. Remove from heat and stir in the coconut and pecans. Let the frosting cool until it is spreadable.

Assembly:

1. Place one cake layer on a serving plate and spread 1/3 of the coconut-pecan frosting over it.

2. Top with the second cake layer and spread another 1/3 of the frosting over it.

3. Place the final cake layer on top and spread the remaining frosting over the top.

Enjoy your delicious German Chocolate Cake!
