Cabbage
cabbage stew
Ingredients:
1 lb (450 g) ground beef
1 medium head of cabbage, chopped
1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
1 bell pepper, chopped
1 onion, diced
2-3 garlic cloves, minced
4 cups beef or vegetable broth
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional: paprika, cumin, or chili flakes for added flavor
Instructions:
1. Brown the Ground Beef: In a large pot or skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
2. Add Vegetables: Add diced onions, bell peppers, and garlic to the pot with the beef. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until they soften.
3. Add Cabbage and Tomatoes: Stir in the chopped cabbage and canned diced tomatoes (with juices). Mix well.
4. Add Broth and Seasonings: Pour in the broth and season with salt, pepper, and any optional spices like paprika or cumin. Stir everything together.
5. Simmer: Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to a simmer. Cover the pot and let it cook for 20-30 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender and flavors are well combined.
6. Serve: Once done, taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve hot!
This is a flexible recipe, and you can adjust it to your taste or add other vegetables, like carrots or celery. Enjoy!
