delicious Cheesy Beef and Vegetables Pie recipe:

Ingredients:

For the filling:

500g ground beef

1 onion, finely chopped

2 garlic cloves, minced

1 cup carrots, diced

1 cup peas (or mixed vegetables)

1 tablespoon tomato paste

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon flour

1 cup beef broth

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1 teaspoon dried oregano

For the cheesy topping:

2 cups mashed potatoes (optional: can use leftover mashed potatoes)

1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese (or a mix of cheeses)

2 tablespoons butter

¼ cup milk

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Filling:

Heat a large pan over medium-high heat and add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain excess fat if necessary.

Add the chopped onions and garlic to the beef. Sauté for about 5 minutes until the onions are soft.

Stir in the diced carrots and cook for 3-4 minutes.

Add the tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, oregano, and mix well.

Sprinkle the flour over the beef and vegetables, stir, and cook for another minute.

Gradually add the beef broth, stirring constantly to avoid lumps. Let the mixture simmer for 10-15 minutes, until it thickens and the vegetables are tender.

Stir in the peas (or mixed vegetables), season with salt and pepper to taste, and cook for an additional 2 minutes. Set aside.

2. Prepare the Cheesy Topping:

In a bowl, mix the mashed potatoes, butter, milk, and 1 cup of the shredded cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

3. Assemble the Pie:

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).

In a greased pie dish or baking dish, spread the beef and vegetable mixture evenly.

Spoon the mashed potatoes on top of the beef mixture, spreading it out evenly with a spatula.

Sprinkle the remaining ½ cup of cheese on top of the mashed potatoes.

4. Bake the Pie:

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and golden brown.

5. Serve:

Let the pie cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy!
