Taco pizza
Ingredients:
1 lb. ground beef
1 envelope taco seasoning mix
2 (8 oz.) cans Pillsbury crescent rolls
1 (16 oz.) can refried beans (jalapeño-flavored or plain)
2-3 cups shredded cheddar cheese or Mexican blend cheese
Instructions:
1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Cook the Ground Beef:
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it up as it cooks.
Drain any excess fat.
Add the taco seasoning mix according to the package instructions (usually with a bit of water), and let it simmer for a few minutes until the beef is well-coated.
3. Prepare the Crescent Rolls:
Open the cans of Pillsbury crescent rolls and unroll the dough.
On a large, greased baking sheet or pizza stone, arrange the crescent roll triangles in a circle, with the wide ends overlapping in the center (it should look like a sunburst or star).
4. Layer the Filling:
Spread the refried beans around the center of the ring, where the crescent rolls overlap, leaving the pointed ends of the dough exposed.
Spoon the cooked taco beef on top of the beans.
Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the beef.
5. Wrap the Crescent Rolls:
Fold the pointed ends of the crescent rolls over the taco filling, tucking them under the wider ends in the center. This will form the crescent ring, with the filling partially covered.
6. Bake:
Bake the taco crescent ring in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and fully cooked.
7. Serve:
Remove from the oven and let it cool for a couple of minutes.
Slice and serve with optional toppings like sour cream, salsa, guacamole, or chopped lettuce and tomatoes.
Enjoy your Taco Crescent Ring!
