Potatoe
Fried Potatoes and Onions
Ingredients:
4 medium potatoes (sliced thin)
1 medium onion (sliced thin, or use both red and white onions for variety)
3 tablespoons of oil or butter (for frying)
Salt and pepper (to taste)
Optional: garlic, paprika, or herbs for extra flavor
Instructions:
1. Prep the potatoes and onions: Slice both potatoes and onions thinly, making sure the potato slices are of even thickness for even cooking.
2. Heat the pan: In a large skillet or cast-iron pan, heat oil or butter over medium heat.
3. Fry the potatoes: Add the potatoes in a single layer to the pan. Let them cook undisturbed for about 5 minutes to get a nice golden-brown sear.
4. Add onions: Stir in the onions once the potatoes have browned on one side. Continue cooking, stirring occasionally, for about 10-15 minutes, or until both potatoes and onions are fully cooked and crispy around the edges.
5. Season: Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and any additional spices you like. Serve hot!
These make a great side dish or breakfast hash!
