Polish sausage, sauerkraut, and potatoes make a delicious and hearty meal. Here’s a simple recipe for you:
Ingredients:
1 lb Polish sausage (kielbasa), sliced
1 medium onion, chopped
2 cups sauerkraut, drained
4 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon caraway seeds (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
1. Cook the Potatoes:
In a pot, boil the diced potatoes in salted water until tender (about 15 minutes). Drain and set aside.
2. Sauté the Sausage and Onion:
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced sausage and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
Add the chopped onion and sauté until soft and translucent.
3. Add Sauerkraut and Potatoes:
Stir in the sauerkraut and cooked potatoes. If using, add caraway seeds. Mix everything together and cook for another 5-10 minutes until heated through.
